The Scottish FA have condemned the Scottish Cup scenes at Ibrox where Rangers and Celtic fans invaded the pitch after the penalty shoot-out win.

Celtic boss Martin O’Neill refused to allow the incident to take the gloss off the big win as Rangers Boss Danny Rohl took in a bizarre interview where he claimed he never saw anything because he was in the tunnel.

However, the SFA are promising to investigate the scenes and it could lead to big fines for both clubs after the Scottish Cup fixture was marred by ugly post-match scenes.

Scottish FA promises ‘investigation’ into Rangers vs Celtic post-match incident

As Tomas Cvancara celebrated the winning Celtic penalty, watching the Hoops support hail their heroes was clearly too much for many Rangers fans.

However, action will be taken as a statement on X read, “The Scottish FA condemns the behaviour from supporters entering the field of play following today’s Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Quarter-Final at Ibrox Stadium.

“An investigation will be carried out immediately in line with the Judicial Panel Protocol.

It was the first time Celtic fans have enjoyed a healthy 7,500 ticket allocation for a Glasgow Derby in almost 10 years.

And after those scenes today, it could be a long time before the Hoops see this again.
