Some Celtic fans are delighted not to have signed Scott McKenna after Pittodrie clash

Some Celtic fans have slammed the performance of Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna today after the two clubs’ Scottish Premiership clash.

Neil Lennon’s men destroyed the Dons on their patch at Pittodrie, winning 4-0 after a stellar first half display.

With McKenna and the rest of his defence exposed, Derek McInnes’ side looked like a mere shadow of the team that once had a claim to be the second best side in the country.

McKenna has been a much-hyped player over the last few seasons, to the point that bigger clubs were said to be keen on signing him.

During the most recent transfer window Celtic were reported to have had a £5m for the player rejected (The Scottish Sun). Not only is that bid a demonstration of the strength of the Hoops’ interest in him, but also of how high Aberdeen value him.

Supporters have never really been keen on the move, but scepticism of it all appeared to reach new heights earlier today with his dreadful display against the Scottish champions.

Now having Kristoffer Ajer and Christopher Jullien leading the way in central defence, there’s really no reason to consider adding the Scotland international to the fold at Celtic Park.
