Some Celtic fans discuss Olivier Ntcham’s Sunday display; time for a Christie return?

Some Celtic fans are looking for a starting return for either Ryan Christie or Tom Rogic on Wednesday night, in place of French midfielder Olivier Ntcham.

Ntcham has been given plenty of action in Neil Lennon’s team of late, starting our first five matches of 2020.

He’s been part of a new system that has allowed a midfield five support both Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard in the attack.

For the most part, he’s played well, showing strength off and on the ball as well as a vision for passing beyond most of our other players.

The 23-year-old even found himself on the scoresheet against St Johnstone.

After Hamilton today though, some feel that Christie or Rogic could add a bit more creativity to Lennon’s team moving forward, starting with the upcoming clash against Motherwell at Fir Park.

Christie came into the game just after the hour mark today, with Ntcham heading off.

Although he took a few minutes to get into the pace of the encounter in his first game since December, he did add a notable spark in the final 20 minutes.

It was his cross that found Christopher Jullien’s classy finish to put us ahead in the match.

Rogic too looked bright in the final 15 minutes, combining with Edouard to make the game comfortable at 3-1.

So while Ntcham hasn’t played particularly badly, is it time to go with a different option?
