Celtic fans have been left stunned by the performance of goalkeeper Fraser Forster after his incredible heroics against Rangers in the Scottish League Cup final at Hampden this afternoon.
In one of the most ‘smash and grab’ performances ever seen in Celtic history, Neil Lennon’s Hoops survived heavy pressure to win the match 1-0 and secure a tenth successive domestic trophy.
The truth is that Rangers had the vast majority of chances throughout the 90 minutes, including an Alfredo Morelos penalty, but Forster fully lived up to his reputation as ‘The Great Wall’ to shut Steven Gerrard’s team out.
He continues to prove he was one of the signings of the summer after his arrival on loan from Southampton.
Save after save came before defender Christopher Jullien diverted home an unlikely winner from a set-piece.
It was a glorious moment that highlighted the sheer will of Lennon’s men to win at all costs, who then had to defend the single-goal lead with just ten men for much of the second half.
For most of the 2019/20 season, Celtic have won matches with flair and plenty of goals. Today though they showed their battling spirit and it’s a win no less impressive.
It was a war and the Bhoys were victorious.
That spirit was typified by no-one more than Forster, whose goalkeeping display will go down in club history as one of the greatest ever seen between the sticks.

These fans were left in awe of his performance, taking to Twitter throughout the afternoon to share their thoughts…
