Neil Lennon has announced his Celtic team for today’s Scottish Premiership match against Rangers at Ibrox, as per celticfc.net.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Forster; Elhamed, Bitton, Jullien, Bolingoli; McGregor, Brown, Christie, Forrest, Johnston, Edouard.

Substitutes – Gordon, Bauer, Hayes, Ntcham, Morgan, Bayo, Griffiths.

It’s a familiar eleven from the manager despite making two new signings through the week. Clearly the occasion has come just a bit too soon for Mohamed Elyounoussi and Moritz Bauer, although the latter does make the bench.

One the big calls is starting Fraser Forster in goals, signalling he is without doubt Lennon’s number one goalkeeper right now.

Hatem Abd Elhamed is also a surprise inclusion given the manager suggested he had a hairline fracture and could miss a further two weeks of action (The Scottish Sun). With Kristoffer Ajer failing to recovered from a groin strain against AIK, his return is a boost.

As for the fixture, well today might not quite be a title decider, but it’s certainly a match that could set the tone for the rest of the season.

After two defeats in our last two Ibrox matches, avoiding that will be the big aim today. A victory would of course be an incredible bonus.

Celtic at the very least need to produce a committed and quality display to demonstrate to fans that the team are still capable of big performances in Govan.
