Celtic were comfortable in defeating Cluj in the Europa League on Thursday night. The Hoops won 2-0, but they could easily have won the game by more goals than that.
One of the star performers for Celtic on both sides of the pitch was Christopher Jullien. He was a real threat in attack, he arguably should have scored two headers before the Hoops went 1-0 up.
Another solid performance

Whilst in his natural role of centre-back, he performed solidly was one of the main reasons Cluj were restricted to very few chances on the night.
Jullien’s performance was rightfully lauded by the Hoops support on social media. One fan claimed that he was an ‘absolute rock’, whilst another thought that the price tag of £7 million is an ‘absolute steal’.
Here are some of the best reactions from social media to Jullien’s latest performance:

Perhaps the only thing missing from Jullien’s performance was the fact that he didn’t find the back of the net. However, his main job is making sure that the Hoops are solid at the back, and he did that in style.
Latest in a series of good performances

The performance against Cluj is just the latest in a series of good performances Jullien has turned in for the Hoops over the last month.
He was similarly excellent against both Rennes and Rangers. It is just a pity that he wasn’t up to speed when the Hoops played Cluj in the Champions League qualifiers in August. He may well have made a big difference to the outcome of the game had he been available.
That is in the past, it is all about the now, and Jullien is one of Celtic’s best players at the moment.
