It says a lot for the player that he was able to put on such a great display having missed out on the recent game against Ross County.
Another aspect of Christie’s game that has to be highlighted is the number of goals he has scored. His goal against Lazio was his 12th of the season.

That means he is still Celtic’s top scorer, which is a very good record for a midfielder. The only bad thing for the Hoops is that Christie will serve the second game of his two-match suspension when the Hoops travel to Aberdeen on Sunday.
He is such an important player that he is going to be a huge miss for the Hoops. That game will be hard enough as it is without such a key player being missing.
Still, that shouldn’t take away from Christie’s performance against Lazio. He keeps getting better and better as the weeks go on.
