Celtic have revealed the starting line-up that will take on Partick Thistle in the Betfred Cup quarter-final. The team was announced on the Hoops Twitter account a short time ago.
The big news is that recent signing from Manchester City Jeremie Frimpong makes his debut for the Hoops. This is a big chance for the player to stake his claim to become a first-team regular.
‘Treble treble’ winner returns to squad

As expected, Craig Gordon starts in goal, and there is a second Hoops start for Vakoun Issouf Bayo. Scott Brown is on the bench, as is James Forrest. Tom Rogic makes his first start of the season. Interestingly, Scott Sinclair makes his long-awaited return to the squad, on the bench.
Unsurprisingly, the team announcement has made an impact on social media. One fan was simply said ‘wow’ when seeing that Sinclair had returned to the squad. Another fan wondered why Marian Shved wasn’t in the squad.
Here are some of the best reactions from social media to the Celtic starting line-up:

It is good to see that Neil Lennon has still picked a fairly strong team despite making changes. The selection shows that he still rates the Betfred Cup highly. It is the domestic trophy he has not won as Celtic manager, and he will be looking to change that this season.
Team should be good enough to win game

The team he has selected should be more than capable of defeating the Championship side and reaching the semi-finals of the tournament. The draw for the semi-finals is made following the four quarter-finals later on Wednesday night. Should the Hoops play sensibly, they should be in the draw.
