Celtic’s Ryan Christie has long been impressed with his scoring prowess for his club team. Now he is doing the same for the international side.
Christie scored his first Scotland on Saturday afternoon against Cyprus. He sublimely curled the ball into the top corner of the net, giving the goalkeeper no chance.
Even Celtic’s official Twitter account was impressed with the goal, calling it ‘a belter’.

Celtic fans on social media who saw the goal were also impressed. One fan claimed that on form, he was currently the best midfielder in Scotland. Another claimed that the player was now worth £50 million.
“Runs the show”

Christie’s confidence will have already have been high this season before he scored for Scotland. He is currently Celtic’s top scorer, having scored 12 goals. He should gain even more confidence after scoring for his international team for the first time.
Hoops boss will hope midfielder doesn’t play full game
Christie might well have a chance to add to his goal tally when Scotland play Kazakhstan on Tuesday night. Should he feature in that match, Neil Lennon will be hoping that he doesn’t play the full 90 minutes. The player has too many big Celtic games in the weeks ahead to suffer an international injury.
Still, Christie will no doubt be delighted that he has managed to score for Scotland for the first time. It could well be the first of many goals he scores for the national side.
