Celtic are set to pay tribute to two club legends in Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts. The Hoops will wear a strip that pays tribute to recently deceased icons Stevie Chalmers and Billy McNeill.

One went as far as to claim that the tribute should be shown to the team before the team takes to the pitch at Hampden Park.

The Hoops will be big favourites against Hearts. However, Neil Lennon will know that if they don’t perform on the day, Celtic could struggle.

Verge of making history

Both McNeill and Chalmers won the treble playing for Celtic. The current side clinching the treble would be the prefect tribute to two club icons.

One more victory will take Celtic to the ‘treble treble’. It is up to the players to ensure that they follow McNeill and Chalmers into the Celtic record books.
