Celtic boss Neil Lennon had some intriguing news on the fitness front ahead of the Hoops’ trip to Ibrox on Sunday.
Lennon has stated that Jozo Simunovic will be available for the match after missing the 4-1 Europa League win over AIK.
He also revealed that recent loan signing Moritz Bauer is likely to be in the Hoops squad.
“He’s been rested”
“Jozo is fit. He’s been rested. I imagine Bauer will be in the squad” Lennon said, as reported by the Celtic Twitter account.

Now that both players should be available, the question has to be asked – will either of them feature in the starting line-up?
That could depend on the fitness of Kristoffer Ajer. If Ajer makes the game, he could well play at right-back, meaning there will be no debut for Bauer.
Possibly that both players could start game
However, he could also play at centre-back if he is fit. Then could be in place of Simunovic. However, should Ajer miss the game, both Bauer and Simunovic could start for the Hoops.
All will finally be revealed when the Celtic team for the fixture is announced on Sunday morning. Even if neither player makes the starting line-up, it is a boost for the Hoops to possibly have the duo in the squad.
Simunovic in particular is a veteran of Glasgow derbies. He would hopefully be able to step up if called upon to start the game.
