Celtic could be handed a small advantage as St Mirren sweat over the fitness of goalkeeper Shamal George.
The Hoops face St Mirren at Barclays Hampden for the Scottish Cup semi-final, one week on from their last meeting where Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s strike earned Celtic the three points.
Goals have been hard to come by in this fixture, with Celtic only beating St Mirren by a one-goal margin in each of their last five victories; however, George’s injury may provide the Hoops the chance to end that.

Shamal George suffers training ground injury before Celtic vs St Mirren
St Mirren’s number-one goalkeeper suffered an ankle injury in training, a week after having to be withdrawn from the game last week due to a trapped nerve in his neck.
Craig McLeish announced the news during his press conference and said that they will do everything to ensure he is ready.

“We need to assess it. He’s only just went over to his ankle, so we’re hoping that he’s going to be OK. We have to take precautions and just take the weight off it straight away,” the interim manager commented.
“We need to wait on Shamal’s update – then whoever’s in and goals for us, we’re confident with whatever we go with.”
Celtic’s record against Shamal George
Celtic have come up against George plenty of times over the years following his spells at Livingston and St Mirren.
George has played against the Hoops six times and lost all six, conceding 13 goals in that process.
That doesn’t tell the full story though, as the ‘keeper has regularly pulled off some brilliant saves and, if he is fit to play, Celtic will be a better side for it.
