Steven Gerrard has claimed not to be focused on recent Celtic form in the Scottish Premiership ahead of tomorrow’s colossal derby at Ibrox.
The Rangers boss took part in a press conference this morning and questions inevitably focused on the visit of Neil Lennon’s men.
One reporter asked what Gerrard has made of the Bhoys turnaround in form recently and whether that changes his preparations for the match.
The Ibrox boss told Rangers TV: “I haven’t really focused on Celtic’s form. Our fixtures and schedule has been very demanding. I haven’t really had time to breathe or blink in terms of focus on any other opposition, only the ones we’ve faced.
“Since our setback in the cup, the players have delivered 12 points from 12, scored nine goals and conceded one. Our reaction and response has been fantastic. So we go into this game confident and in a good place.
“Obviously Celtic have won their last couple of games against Hamilton, Ross County and Dundee [United], but they’re playing Rangers tomorrow.”
Celtic form better than advertised
Celtic have beaten all of the teams that Gerrard mentions, however, he fails to consider other victories.
Neil Lennon’s team have also beaten Kilmarnock and Lille since we last dropped points.
There was also the small matter of securing a momentous Quadruple Treble achievement with a Scottish Cup final win, albeit on penalties.
Celtic have won the last four matches in the league, scoring ten goals and not conceding any. It’s form better than Rangers within the timeframe Gerrard references.

He’ll be perfectly aware that the Bhoys might not be the pushovers we were in the last derby, whether he wants to admit it in the build-up or not.
Rangers will remain favourites for tomorrow’s fixture, but this Celtic side can win and give them a huge title fright.
Bring it on.
