Celtic have announced their team to take on Cluj in the Champions League third round first leg tie.

The team was revealed on the club’s official Twitter account.

The big news is that £7 million signing Christopher Jullien does not start for the Hoops. Manager Neil Lennon selects Jozo Simunovic and Kristoffer Ajer for the centre-back roles instead.

Hatem Abd Elhamed has managed to shake off the injury he picked up against St Johnstone, and makes only his second start for the Hoops.

There is no place for Mikey Johnston in the starting line-up either, Lewis Morgan replaces him. The attacking trio of Ryan Christie, James Forrest and Odsonne Edouard key to the Hoops getting a positive result in Romania.

The team news has garnered some reaction on social media. Fans were particularly bemused by the omission of Johnston. Perhaps he is carrying an injury.

Here are some of the best reactions to the starting line-up from Twitter:

Celtic go into the game in excellent form. They have a 100 % record from five games so far this season. Most recently, the Hoops kicked off their league defence in style with a 7-0 win over St Johnstone.

Cluj will provide the sternest test that the Hoops have faced so far this season. However, should the Hoops play like they have so far this season, they should have enough quality to take a positive result back to Glasgow for the second leg on Tuesday.
