The brilliant Joe Hart moment you may have missed at Celtic Park last night
Joe Hart has quickly established himself as a key member of the Celtic squad.
When he signed, there was a bit of concern in some quarters that he didn’t quite fit the Ange Postecoglou style and that he was a high-profile risk.
However, he’s undoubtedly exceeded expectations both in terms of shot-stopping and overall impact in the squad.
In fact, Ange has been such a fan of the player that he’s been installed as the team captain in the absence of Callum McGregor. And moments such as the one last night certainly vindicate that decision.
If you weren’t at the game you might not have noticed what happened at full-time, even if you were, you may have missed it!
My pal and 67 Hail Hail YouTube host Hamish Carton noticed that the team were due to head up the tunnel without saluting the fans after last night’s match.
However, Hart stepped in and ensured that unity between players and supporters was respected. The goalkeeper in his role as captain played a blinder to recognise the potential faux pas.
It shows, if nothing else, that Hart is immediately taking to the culture at Celtic. He’s doing his bit, in the absence of McGregor, to ensure everyone is moving forward in the same direction.
Last night’s match won’t go down as a classic. It was about as routine a Celtic cup win as you can get. However, it’s still an important small step on the road of this Postecoglou project.
You get the sense Hart gets that aspect of what’s going at Celtic, with gestures such as this one last night.
Well in Joe!
