The Celtic supporters were quick to highlight a brilliant Joe Hart moment midway through the second half of the clash against Alloa yesterday.

Hart put in yet another inspired display against the Wasps to ensure Scottish Cup progression for the Hoops. Had it not been for a couple of key saves at different times, last night could’ve gone a lot differently.

Many noticed his full-time moment of class too. When he brought a young supporter onto the pitch in order to get a photo with Celtic teammate Jota. However, there was another superb piece of leadership brilliance that occurred in the 64th minute.

Alloa’s Muhamed Niang went right through Celtic midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi with a shocking challenge. Despite getting the ball with his initial contact, the follow-through had Gucci’s ankle going in all directions. It was an extremely reckless moment and could’ve resulted in a much more serious injury.

As you would expect, the tackle prompted some angry reactions from the Celtic players. Many were furious with the decision by Don Robertson to only flash a yellow card. But Hart took a more reserved, calmer approach.

Joe Hart lectured Muhamed Niang whilst Celtic teammate received treatment

Whilst Ideguchi was receiving treatment, Hart went straight for Niang and took part in what appeared to be a serious conversation over the nature of the challenge. Only the 2 players will know the exact words used in the conversation, but it looked as though Joe was giving him a big lecture on the severity of his challenge.

Interestingly, there didn’t appear to be any shouting from the Celtic number 1. No over-the-top reactions or any attempts to kick up a fuss or a flashpoint. Instead, he just looked disappointed in the player as he explained why his challenge was wrong.

After the confrontation, even Niang looked a touch disappointed in himself. It was a horror challenge regardless, but Hart’s words seemed to mean something to the Alloa midfielder.

It was yet another sign of Hart’s immense on and off-field leadership. Celtic have signed more than just a top goalkeeper in the former England international, they’ve also signed a top pro and personality.

And the Celtic supporters were quick to lavish praise on Hart for the incident which was picked up the Premier Sports cameras. Here’s a look at some of that reaction.
