Celtic’s draw with Rangers was a fair result in the final Glasgow Derby of the season.

Adam Idah rescued a point for Celtic after the Hoops went behind to a Cyriel Dessers opener right on the stroke of halftime at Ibrox.

Celtic came out in the second half with a sense of purpose after a disappointing first-half saw them go behind to Rangers for the third game in a row but the Bhoys managed to see out a draw.

However, there was fears that Adam Idah’s goal could have been ruled out for offside but the BBC have shared the real reason why the match officials had to award the equaliser.

Why the match officials ruled Adam Idah’s Celtic goal vs Rangers offside

Adam Idah’s second-half strike was no more than Celtic deserved after Rodgers’ side battled back from going behind once again in a Glasgow Derby.

However, as many Rangers fans rage about the goal being allowed to stand, the BBC shared what they were told about the goal and why the Celtic equaliser was not ruled out.

In the BBC’s Live Reporting feed, the broadcaster said, “We’ve had some guidance on that Adam Idah leveller.

“The offside was given initially for Maeda’s break down the left, not for his presence near Liam Kelly as Idah shot.”

Adam Idah continues to batter Rangers despite lack of Celtic starts

Idah has now faced Rangers a total of eight times since joining Celtic on loan last January.

In those eight fixtures, Idah has started just once with the rest of his appearances coming from the Celtic bench.

However, despite that, the big Irishman has still scored three times against the Ibrox club with his latest goal helping seal Celtic’s second draw at Rangers’ ground in the past two seasons.

The Celtic fans will rue the first chance the big Irishman missed that led to the Rangers opener but Idah more than made up for it with his brilliant second-half strike to pile on more misery for the Ibrox club.
