Three fringe players who should start Celtic's match against Kilmarnock
Celtic boss Neil Lennon may well decide to shake things up over the next two fixtures. The Hoops take on Kilmarnock in the league, followed by a game against Partick Thistle in the Betfred Cup.
The fact that the Hoops were just in action in a tough Europa League against Rennes, might well be the reason why the Hoops manager decides to make a few changes.
Focusing on the Kilmarnock game, the Celtic boss will likely still pick a strong side. However, that does not mean that some changes won’t be made.
Here are three fringe players who should start for the Hoops against Kilmarnock on Sunday:
The loan signing from Stoke has yet to play a full game for the Hoops. In fact his only appearance so far came as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 win over Rangers. However, he deserves a chance to show how he fares at right-back. Hatem Abd Elhamed could do with a break, and Bauer needs games to prove that he is worth buying at the end of the season. A start at right-back for Bauer makes sense.
This would please plenty of the Celtic support. Rogic has yet to start a game this season, and has only just returned from injury. However, the skilful midfielder could be just the man to unlock a Kilmarnock defence who seem to be in good form. Rogic might not have to play the full game, but he is easily capable on contributing a match-winning performance in that time.
VAKOUN ISSOUF BAYO
Bayo was unfortunate to be sent-off in the 1-1 draw with Rennes. However, he should be given the chance to make up for that against Kilmarnock. The match against would be a good one to rest Odsonne Edouard for. Bayo played well when he started against Hearts last month. Should he repeat that type of appearance, he could score his first goals for the Hoops.
