Celtic’s recent £3.5 million signing Patryk Klimala will be tasked with helping the Hoops win nine in a row in the second-half of the season.
However, before that, he has the chance to make his Hoops debut when Celtic play Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
Here are three reasons why it would be a good move for the player to feature in the game:
POSSIBILITY OF A DEBUT GOAL
It is highly unlikely that Klimala will start the game. You would imagine that Odsonne Edouard will get the nod.
However, there is a good chance that the striker could come on at some stage of the second-half. That could open up the possibility of a debut goal for the player.
Being honest, Partick Thistle aren’t a good side, they are struggling towards the bottom of the Championship table. That opens up the chance of Klimala scoring on his debut. That would be the perfect start to his career in Glasgow.
CHANCE TO ESTABLISH STRIKING PARTNERSHIP
We don’t yet know if Neil Lennon will play Klimala and Odsonne Edouard as strike partners at Celtic, or continue with his one striker up-front formation.
However, the Hoops boss could try playing Klimala and Edouard together at some stage of the game. Perhaps the Hoops boss has already been working on this formation in training.
Playing the duo together would be a smart move, as it would allow the pair to build a relationship which can be taken into fixtures going forward. Therefore, Edouard and Klimala should play together at some stage of the game.
NEEDS GAME TIME AHEAD OF BUSY SCHEDULE
Celtic’s game against Partick is the first of four that the Hoops will play before the end of January. The Hoops will soon be on the familiar schedule of playing two games a week, like they did before the winter break.
That is why Klimala should be involved for the Hoops as soon as possible. In the very busy schedule which is ahead of the team, the Hoops will need every possible player in the squad.
That includes Klimala. The sooner he is integrated into the Hoops side the better.
