Under the radar; Odin Thiago Holm reacts online to Celtic Park debut

Odin Thiago Holm has had his say online after making his Celtic Park debut.

The Norwegian was part of the second-half side who turned around a deficit to beat Athletic Club last night.

Celtic were 2-1 down when Holm entered the fray at half-time, with a quick-fire double from Alexandro Bernabei and David Turnbull earning the Hoops a win.

It was the ideal way to round off pre-season and a great start on the Paradise pitch for the tidy Holm.

The best part of a day later, he took to his Instagram stories to say: “Debut at Paradise. 3-2 win vs Athletic Bilbao.”

The midfielder clearly likes to keep things simple online, and that’s pretty fitting given his on-field play.

He hasn’t featured a whole lot for Celtic so far — only around 100 minutes over our last three matches — but the general feeling amongst the support is that we may be on to a winner.

Holm has gone under the radar so far, and that may just be his style of play. He doesn’t overcomplicate things, simply moving the ball on quickly and efficiently.

It’s all a little reminiscent of, dare we say it, Callum McGregor.

Holm is likely to get opportunities in the coming weeks but they may come off the bench once the competitive action begins.

McGregor, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley are likely to have the jerseys come Saturday, but the Norwegian is arguably next up after his impressive recent showings.

It will be great to see what he’s really about once the competitive action begins.
