It was an Easter Sunday to remember for Kelechi Iheanacho and Celtic this year.

Brought in from the bench without a goal in 2026, the striker scored the winner in what could be a crucial victory for Martin O’Neill’s side.

Fans were jubilant after the game, after making up ground on Derek McInnes and Hearts who had dropped points earlier in the day.

The club’s Unique Angle posted on the Celtic YouTube channel highlights a few things.

Unique Angle shows brilliant view of Kelechi Iheanacho’s Celtic celebration

Firstly, we see the dubious opening goal that was scored by either Hyunjun Yang or Benjamin Nygren.

Nygren wheels away, but eventually turns back to acknowledge the winger, who looks to have got the last touch in slow-motion angles that have emerged since.

For Iheanacho’s goal, we see how much it means to the Nigerian international. He’s had to wait a long time for this; six months to be precise.

It was just his third goal since arriving in Glasgow, and his first open play goal for Celtic in Scottish football.

He often wears his emotions on his sleeve, and can regularly be seen kicking every ball when warming up on the side-lines.

After the final whistle, the 29-year-old can be seen appreciating the travelling support in a moment of celebration.

Not included in the Unique Angle was Iheanacho’s embrace with Mark Fotheringham, which was brilliantly caught by Sky Sports’ cameras.

The Celtic coach can be seen blessing himself in an acknowledgement of Easter Sunday, which was later echoed by the striker on social media.

Iheanacho is still playing for his Celtic future, though his contract runs until 2027.

Celtic boss Martin O’Neill on Kelechi Iheanacho

Speaking about the striker after the game, interim boss O’Neill said: “That would be great for him, really great. He’s had a really frustrating time since he’s been here.

“When I arrived, first of all, he was recovering from a hamstring, which he’d got after, I think, about five minutes in the game.

“And then Wilfried put him into the side and he pulled the hamstring again in the cup final. So he’s been fighting back from that.

“I’ve had a chat with him to say to him that he’s been a really fine player in his career. And he should be, really, at 29, he should be at the peak of his career, rather than, you know, sometimes maybe just scratching around. So I think that’s the point.

“But he scores. He can hold the ball up. He’s good at that. Might not be able to run the channels that much, but at the end of the day, he can hold the ball up.

“And that’s his trademark, really, in the game. And he’s played for Manchester City at the end of the day. Well, that’s some time ago, isn’t it!?

“Like everything else. But, yeah, that’ll do him the world of good, I think.”
