Watch Adam Idah’s stunned reaction as he simply cannot believe what his Celtic teammate did during win over Kilmarnock

Celtic put on an unbelievable display as they blew away a sorry Kilmarnock side at Parkhead.

The Hoops responded excellently to last weekend’s St Johnstone defeat as they came out of the traps firing by scoring four goals within 25 minutes of play.

Reo Hatate notched a brace on the day, with countryman Daizen Maeda also getting on the scoresheet to continue his fine record in front of goal this season for the Bhoys.

Anthony Ralston added a late fifth, but the best goal of the day came from the unlikeliest of sources. No Celtic fan inside Parkhead knew this man had this sort of strike in his locker.

Adam Idah absolutely stunned by Carter-Vickers Celtic screamer

Cameron Carter-Vickers wandered forward with the ball and decided to take an audacious pop at goal almost 30 yards from Kieran O’Hara’s goal.

The swerve and power on the effort was unbelievable as the American watched his thunderbolt of a strike fly into the opposite top corner of the net.

That was Celtic’s third goal of the afternoon with Hatate completing his brace with a composed finish just a few minutes later for 4-0.

Carter-Vickers clearly doesn’t do that very often in training at Lennoxtown given the reaction of his teammates after the ball smacked the back of the net.

Adam Idah simply couldn’t believe his eyes as he immediately placed both hands on his head in utter shock. The same could be said for Arne Engels and Daizen Maeda nearby.

Chris Sutton’s immediate reaction live on Sky Sports

Celtic hero Chris Sutton was in position at Parkhead as co-commentator for Sky Sports and he admitted thinking that Carter-Vickers would be stupid to shoot from that far out.

Sutton’s immediate reaction went as follows: “Well it’s an absolute cracker from Carter-Vickers. I’ve got to say when he was shaping up to shoot, I was thinking ‘don’t be so stupid’. What do I know?

“That space opened up. I mean, that is one hell of a strike. That stayed hit. Blimey, all sort of movement on it. O’Hara nowhere near it, must be the best part of 30 yards out there.

“I might be wrong but I can’t remember in his time at Celtic him striking one like that.”
