It’s a great day to be a Celtic supporter after taking in the brilliance of another cup win under Ange Postecoglou. The Bhoys have now won three of the four domestic trophies available to them since the Australian took charge.
Kyogo Furuhashi stole the headlines with his double at Hampden against Rangers, but in every respect, the Scottish League Cup final victory was a collective team effort from back to front.
Brilliant then to get superb footage of the team’s celebrations on the pitch and in the dressing room at Hampden, as supplied by the club in an official upload this lunchtime. You can see the video embedded below or via this link.
Celtic well placed to add to trophy haul
The team can be seen dancing to music, arranging themselves for the team photos and even getting champagne spray from delighted defender Anthony Ralston.
Postecoglou’s group have forged a terrific bond over the last 20 months and are well placed to push on from this point, potentially delivering more trophy success before the end of the season.
Alistair Johnston made it clear they are confident of doing that in an address to supporters last night. While nobody internally will be talking about a treble with so much football to be played, it can’t be denied Celtic are in strong shape for it.
Currently sitting nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, the immediate concern will now be this weekend’s trip to St Mirren at a venue that has already proven difficult this season.
The players will get a well-earned full day to savour their latest success, then it’ll be right back to work at Lennoxtown.
In other news, Even Ally McCoist left stunned by Celtic hero’s efforts; Ange Postecoglou agrees.
