Back to winning ways for Celtic and Brendan Rodgers!

Much-needed and very well-deserved as two second-half goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Liam Scales against Livingston lifted the mood in the Celtic camp.

Whilst Kyogo Furuhashi’s close-range finish was the Japan star being his typical self, Liam Scales perhaps scored the better goal, even if it was from a set-piece situation.

James McFadden was certainly impressed by what he saw as he labelled it ‘unbelievable’, as he told Sportscene Premiership Highlights

Running towards the near post and the ball moving away from him, Liam Scales managed to flick the ball on and into the back of the net.

It was a very impressive effort from the 25-year-old, who is just going from strength to strength in this Celtic side this season.

Both of Celtic’s goals were assisted by Luis Palma, who is now also starting to find some form ahead of the derby against Rangers on December 30.

Liam Scales’ goal for Celtic

“The second goal, it’s something we aren’t used to seeing, especially with Livi, they are so organised at set-plays,” said McFadden.

“It’s an unbelievable header. It’s a brilliant run from Liam Scales. He runs off the back, it’s Nottingham who is picking him up and gets nowhere near him. Scales is running away from the goal and manages to get the flick on it and into the back of the net. It’s a great goal.

“From Celtic’s point of view, it’s brilliant.”

Ending 2023 with wins

Two games remain to round off what has been another trophy-winning year for the Celtic boys.

Yes, these last few weeks haven’t been what is demanded, but if the team finishes 2023 with wins against Dundee and Rangers, then it’s a guaranteed top spot heading into the New Year.

That would just lift the mood even further around the place, especially with the January transfer window also around the corner.
