2 jobs open up that could be of interest to Celtic coach John Kennedy

Celtic coach John Kennedy is at a career crossroads this summer. He has massive decisions to make on his future after a difficult interim spell as Bhoys manager.

For all we’ve been frustrated with him this term, it can’t be forgotten he’s had an association with Celtic for more than two decades.

It’ll be hard for both Kennedy to say goodbye to Celtic and perhaps even for Celtic to say goodbye to Kennedy. Nobody knows how it works at Lennoxtown more than him.

Only he knows what’s in store, but I reckon he’d benefit from leaving the club and forging his own path in management away from the Celtic chaos.

If he proves himself and becomes a success there’s every chance he could return down the road. At the very least he’d have the opportunity to be his own man and prove himself as a manager.

But where might that be? Well, the manager merry-go-round is in full swing in the Scottish Premiership today.

As we discussed earlier, John Hughes has left Ross County to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

United would be a brilliant destination. With their forward-thinking, analytical football department, nurturing a young coach like Kennedy who has worked under pressure with some comparatively great players could be the perfect fit.

Kennedy may not fancy a relegation battle at County, but if they could put together a long-term plan that requires a coach with connections, a spell in Dingwall would let him get on with the job without as much media glare.

Interesting times for all concerned.
