Aaron Mooy has admitted that he loves the Celtic fans’ chant for his teammate Filipe Jota and that it always gets stuck in his head.
It’s been a brilliant few months for Mooy as he has established himself as a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s side after some eye-catching displays.
The Australian has built on an impressive World Cup campaign by returning to Celtic Park and becoming a key player in the Hoops squad.
His efforts have certainly been appreciated by Celtic fans as they have created a chant for him to the song ‘Daddy Cool’.
But Mooy has revealed that he also loves another fan chant and it is the ever-popular ‘Jota on the Wing’.
Mooy really likes ‘Jota on the Wing’
Mooy took part in a Q&A on Celtic’s official Twitter account today and he was asked about his favourite fan chant, excluding his own of course.
The Hoops midfielder admitted that he’s taken a liking to Jota’s chant. He wrote: “I like the Jota on the Wing song, it’s good and gets stuck in my head!”
Jota has firmly established himself as a fan-favourite after he made his loan spell at Celtic Park a permanent one for £6 million over the summer.
Mooy is heading the same way as the Portuguese winger and it’s brilliant to hear the players are clearly fond of the catchy chants that ring out at Celtic Park.
The Bhoys will be in high spirits after picking up their first trophy of the campaign at Hampden Park on Sunday.
It was Mooy’s first piece of silverware since he swapped China for Glasgow, while Jota picked up his third trophy in just 18-months at the club.
With the way Postecoglou’s side are playing at the moment, it would be no surprise to see both players pick up a couple more before the season ends. And if that’s the case, the chants for both players will only grow louder from the Celtic faithful.
