Albian Ajeti notched his second Celtic goal in eight days in this afternoon’s success against Motherwell, and it has the Hoops support purring.

Ajeti, who wasn’t deemed fit enough to start against Ferencvaros on Wednesday, was again benched this afternoon to start off. However, Neil Lennon eventually threw on the Swiss striker with just under 20 minutes to go.

The former West Ham striker then repaid his manager with a clinical finish from around 12 yards. Collecting a fine Kristoffer Ajer pass, Ajeti dispatched superbly to make it two goals in his last two league matches.

His momentum wasn’t lost on the Celtic supporters who watched on either. Reacting to his display this afternoon, here’s what some in the support are saying:

Lennon not wrong on Ajeti

It’s important not to hammer the manager too much for decisions that were actually sensible at the time.

No, I’m not talking about not playing with a striker against Ferencvaros. However, starting Ajeti against the Hungarians just days after he looked out of puff after a cameo against Dundee United, wouldn’t have been the best idea.

The blame game towards Lennon must stop after the subject of not starting Patryk Klimala. He should’ve started the Pole on Wednesday and arguably this afternoon. But as for Ajeti, the manager is clearly handling him well.

It was slightly disappointing to only see him get around 20 minutes of game-time once again this afternoon. We were all looking forward to seeing how he performed over a potentially longer period of time.

Regardless, he’s burying his opportunities whenever they’re coming his way, and he looks like he’s enjoying himself early doors here too. So far, it looks like it could be £5million well spent (Sky Sports).

In two weeks, Celtic will take the trip to Dingwall to face Ross County in yet another important Premiership match (they all are this season I suppose). It would take a brave fan to bet against Ajeti doing yet further damage given the mood he’s in.

In other news, Pat Bonner believes one Celtic star was “back to his best” this afternoon.
