Preston North End manager Alex Neil has revealed that he has no plans to leave the club any time soon. The Daily Mail recently reported that Celtic were considering an approach to Neil to become their next manager.

But Neil has disclosed that all he is focusing on is the Championship side.

“I have no thoughts about moving club or anything like that” he told the Scottish Sun.

“Put it Together”

“I think what it is, is that people naturally look to see what Scottish manager is doing well and then put it together.”

Neil would certainly be an interesting choice as the next Hoops manager. Preston aren’t exactly setting the Championship on fire, they currently sit in 12th place in the table, six points off the play-off places.

He has struggled to live up to some of his earlier successes, winning promotion with both Hamilton and Norwich.

You would imagine if the choice for a new manager came down to a race between Neil and interim boss Neil Lennon, most fans would choose Lennon.

He has seen and done it all for Celtic, which isn’t the case for Neil. The fact that the Hoops board were reportedly considering Neil though, could mean that some at the top of the club are unconvinced about Lennon as permanent manager.

Time will tell who will be the Hoops boss next season. But it doesn’t look like it is going to be Alex Neil.
