Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been around the block during his career.
From Liverpool to Besiktas, it has been quite a journey for the midfielder, but there is nothing like Celtic, as he is now beginning to understand that.
Over the weekend, Celtic won the domestic double, with Oxlade-Chamberlain coming off the bench during the Scottish Cup final win over Dunfermline Athletic.
The free agent from January played his part in the club’s success, but having now experienced living in Scotland, as well as the ‘international fanbase’, he is now starting to understand what it feels like to be Celtic.
“The fanbase and the support is incredible,” said Oxlade-Chamberlain. “You walk all over Glasgow, anywhere that I have been up here in Scotland, there is a Celtic fan.
“You know more about the international fanbase as well when you are a part of it. It’s a massive, massive club.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain lauds Celtic fanbase after winning domestic double
Oxlade-Chamberlain has played for some of England’s biggest clubs – Liverpool and Arsenal, so he understands what it’s like on the biggest of stages.
But this is Scotland’s biggest and most successful club, and he is getting the best taster of it.
Yes, those in green and white are used to dominating, but nothing will top what has unfolded in Scotland this season.
When you have players like Kieran Tierney ranking this season’s title win right at the top, then you know it’s special.
But whether Oxlade-Chamberlain is walking around Glasgow or understanding Celtic’s fans from around the world, he knows that this is a ‘massive, massive club’, as he told Celtic TV.
“I am lucky enough to have played for some really big clubs,” said Oxlade-Chamberlain. “This is definitely one of them.
“The fanbase and the support is incredible. You walk all over Glasgow, anywhere that I have been up here in Scotland, there is a Celtic fan.
“You know more about the international fanbase as well when you are a part of it. It’s a massive, massive club.
“I think the thing that I love the most is that when I came in, Cal (McGregor) and the coaching staff spoke about ‘when you are here it’s about winning.’ That’s what big clubs do, and that’s what you have to try and do.
“I am glad we can do that, and it’s been amazing.”
