Adam Idah will return to Celtic this week with a spring in his step.
On Sunday, Idah helped the Republic of Ireland beat Bulgaria in the UEFA Nations League by coming off the bench and netting a late winner.
Over the two legs, Ireland won 4-2 and helped maintain their UEFA Nations League B status, and now it’s back to domestic matters for all involved.
Celtic have the small matter of trying to win a Treble, and if it happens, then it will cap a fine full debut campaign for their big-money summer signing.
After Idah’s successful loan spell, including that winning goal against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final, the powers that be at Celtic Park were always going to bring him in permanently.
But, already, the 24-year-old has had to bat away talk of his future after scoring for Ireland.

Adam Idah shuts down talk about possibly leaving Celtic
Whilst Celtic are a giant in Europe, unfortunately, the overall league doesn’t bring in the money or attention like other leagues.
As a result, the Scottish Premiership isn’t regarded as a top-five league in the world, but that was put on Idah’s table, and he answered it brilliantly.
It was suggested to the Irish star that he isn’t playing as much at Celtic and, ‘do you want to go to one of the top five leagues’, but Celtic fans will just love his response, as posted by Go Radio.
Presenter Paul Cooney relayed: “Adam Idah was asked after the Ireland game, where he scored, in the 2-1 win, ‘what about your future, speculation, you aren’t playing all the time’.
“He didn’t really get involved in it. He was asked, ‘do you want to go to one of the top five leagues in the summer?’
He said, ‘I don’t think about whether I can’t play for the team I go to or not. I just fight for the team I am with, and that’s Celtic. That’s all I want to do. I think it would be good if I can do that’.”
Idah’s stats for Celtic this season
At first, Idah had Kyogo Furuhashi ahead of him, then he leaves in January and Daizen Maeda turns into Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Japan star, who has now moved from wide left to a central position, just can’t stop scoring and has netted 28 goals in all competitions.
Yes, it reduces Idah’s game time, but it still doesn’t mean he hasn’t contributed or had a healthy first full season in Glasgow.
