It’s not very often Ally McCoist says something positive about Celtic so when he named the Parkhead legend who is his favourite-ever, it does make fans sit up and take notice.

Celtic have had plenty of players grace the Parkhead turf who could do things with a ball that many could only dream of.

Lubomir Moravcik, Henrik Larsson and Paul McStay are three Celtic players who command respect for the skill and technique they had playing for the green and white Hoops.

McCoist can’t hide his love for Celtic legend Bobby Lennox

Bobby Lennox, as every Celtic supporter knows, was key to the famous 1967 European Cup win in Lisbon.

And speaking about the legendary winger, McCoist admits that no one else can hold a candle to Lennox.

McCoist said on talkSPORT, “My favourite Celtic player, Henrik was obviously tremendous. Kenny [Dalglish], tremendous.

“But probably my favourite Celtic player would be Bobby Lennox, there you are.

“By the way, I’m going to say something to you. Bobby Lennox’s goal scoring record for a winger, playing wide is nothing short of ridiculous. Ridiculous.”

Lennox will forever be a legend in every generation of Celtic supporters from now until eternity and when you look at what the Lisbon Lion achieved at the club, it is little wonder
