Ally McCoist isn’t happy at Celtic and Rangers’ post-split fixtures in the Scottish Premiership.
The league confirmed the schedule for the final five days of the season on Tuesday, putting league leaders Hearts at Celtic Park on the final day of the season.
This has been controversial for many of a Hearts or Rangers persuasion, for different reasons.
And ex-Rangers striker and pundit McCoist, on talkSPORT with Alan Brazil and Gabby Agbonlahor, has certainly echoed the sentiment that the fixtures favour Celtic…

Ally McCoist says ‘you couldn’t make it up’ after Celtic fixture confirmation
With McCoist phoning in from Paris – where he is covering the Champions League – Brazil wound him up, saying: “No Irish butter, no Jambo jambon with his croissants this morning, he’s gutted, he’s gutted! Who’s fiddled these fixtures, McCoist?”
The Ibrox pundit replied: “First of all, a very good morning to you, boys… Gabby, you couldn’t get a bet on them having a home game on the last game of the season, man!”

Asked why this has happened, the ex-striker said: “Well, they’re running the thing up here, aren’t they!
“They’re absolutely running it, mate. They’ve got four of their last six at home again! We’ve got four of six away! You couldn’t make it up, pal!
“They’re playing Hearts final game of the season, right? Imagine one of them needs to win to stop us winning the league.
“Do you think [that] will happen? You’d better believe it will happen!”
He went on to say: “All kidding aside, I think it’s just so tough to call. I really do. I don’t think there’s any doubt.
“I think there’s probably more momentum with Rangers, but see when we’re coming down to the crunch, guys? I’ll tell you. I think Rangers have got a tough game at the weekend against one of the teams of the year, Falkirk, and one of the managers of the year, John McGlynn.
“We’ve got to go to Falkirk twice. But listen, it’s brilliant, Gabby. The fact that we’re talking about it as a three-way title race, I actually can’t remember the last time this happened. It’s great, mate.”

The SPFL and Scottish Cup are up for grabs. LET US KNOW
Why have Celtic’s split fixtures come out as they are?
The obvious explanation for McCoist’s gripe is that Celtic were due more home games than their title rivals.
This is due to the number of home and away games the clubs have already played in the first 33 games of the season.
It goes without saying that all of Celtic, Hearts and Rangers will finish the season with 19 home and 19 away games played, and that the league has had to juggle several plates to ensure.
The title is still in the hands of all three teams.
