Celtic’s success has brought a lot of pain to people connected to Rangers.
The Parkhead club stands on the bring of another domestic clean sweep as Brendan Rodgers looks to tie up the league title against Dundee United and the Scottish Cup against Aberdeen.
On the flip side of that, Celtic’s successes mean Rangers generally end the season empty handed and that prospect is clearly getting to Ally McCoist.
McCoist was talking about who Rangers could hire as manager to help challenge Celtic’s domination when he asked Alan Brazil a question about the Hoops’ domination that shows how much agony in the Ibrox legend is in.

Ally McCoist tried to downplay Celtic’s success because of ‘poor ‘ Rangers
Already this week Celtic fans have had to listen to nonsensical opinions about the club’s success after reaching another Hampden final.
Even Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler defended Celtic after hearing criticism that this season’s potential treble win is ‘tedious’.
And now, McCoist seems to suggest that the only reason Celtic are successful is because Rangers are so poor.
McCoist said on talkSPORT [7m], “Here’s a question for you. Clearly, Celtic are winning all trophies. Is it actually benefiting Celtic, Rangers being poor?
Brazil: “Yeah.”
McCoist: “It is benefitting Celtic?”
Brazil: “Well, no, no, I’ve always said I want a strong Rangers, but Celtic winning it, that’s all they can do.”
McCoist: “That’s not what I’m saying. Is it benefiting the club moving forward?”
Brazil: “I would be in a minority, but I’d like to see a strong Rangers. Yeah, I’d be a minority. I think.”
McCoist: “Do you think so?”
Brazil: “Yes I would. Yeah I think a lot of Celtic fans are loving it.”
McCoist: “I’m actually the same as you. I want Rangers to win everything. But I think it benefits Rangers having a strong Celtic. Do you know what I mean?”
Ally McCoist’s bizarre Celtic position makes no sense
This is genuinely a weird take from McCoist because when back in his day when Rangers were dominant, there were not many people crying out for a strong Celtic or making excuses about the Parkhead club’s domestic troubles.
Plus, McCoist claims he wants a strong Celtic because it benefits Rangers, does anyone else see the flaw in this argument?
Celtic have been strong for over 25 years and Rangers are still nowhere near as strong as McCoist wants them to be. He really must be hurting.
