Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta is reminiscing about his days with Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi in Japan, posting an old photo of the two on Instagram.

Iniesta and Kyogo struck up quite a bond at Vissel Kobe and have publicly acknowledged their deep friendship and respect for each other on multiple occasions.

The classy midfielder uploaded a photo of him celebrating the 2019 Emperor’s Cup win on Instagram, with Kyogo alongside him and tagged in the post, which read: “Great moments lived in Japan with Vissel Kobe.”

Iniesta remains an important player in J-League 1, making 21 appearances and scoring five goals so far this term as captain.

Unfortunately, his last remaining months with Kyogo were spent on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, as the new Celtic Bhoy took up the mantle of carrying the team.

In August, the Spanish Icon shared his delight at the attacker’s start in Scotland, telling The Times: “Kyogo is an excellent footballer, He is so hard-working, he is very fast and he scores goals. He has many very good qualities for European football.

“I’m glad he started so well in Glasgow because he was really looking forward to playing in Europe. Celtic is a historic club in world football, ideal for Kyogo.”

Let’s hope the Celtic star can return from international duty in the same lightning form that created so much hype to begin with.

If he reaches those heights again, we may just be capable of earning the consistent results in the Scottish Premiership we need.
