Former Celtic striker Andy Walker thinks Neil Lennon and his team can go on an eight-match winning run following the team’s return from the winter break, speaking to Sky Sports.
The Hoops bounced back from December derby defeat at the weekend with Scottish Cup progression against Partick Thistle.
However, the tests will get stiffer over the coming period as the squad embark on a gauntlet that includes seven away fixtures in our next nine in all competitions.
That run will take us to Aberdeen and Copenhagen and it’ll be incredibly difficult to maintain a perfect record.
Walker though thinks that Lennon’s side can again show some incredible consistency, just like the first half of the season.
As quoted by Sky Sports, he said: “The biggest prize in this season of all seasons is Celtic trying to get nine-in-a-row and Rangers obviously trying to stop it.
“I can see Celtic being really strong and picking up six, seven or eight wins on the bounce on the back of the winter break but, equally, I can see Rangers doing that too.”
Obviously there’s a lot of hard work ahead and Walker does think Steven Gerrard’s outfit will keep pace.
However, with Celtic playing far more matches away from home than the Ibrox side during this period, if we can maintain a lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership heading into a more traditional alternating home and away schedule then we’ll be in fantastic shape.

The Hoops have dropped points in two away league matches this season, winning our last four against Aberdeen, Hearts, Ross County and St Mirren.
Tomorrow night’s trip to Rugby Park will tell us a lot about the team’s readiness to compete following our Dubai training camp.
While everyone would accept a narrow victory at all costs, if Lennon’s team can send out a statement with a strong victory then it will only allow us to carry momentum into the next month of action.
