Andy Walker has surprisingly included nine Celtic players in his Team of the Decade.
The man who so often loves to have a pop at the Hoops on Sky Sports has been remarkably level-headed in his selection of his top team over the last 10 years.
Mikael Lustig, Virgil Van Dijk, Kieran Tierney, James Forrest, Scott Brown, Callum McGregor, Moussa Dembele, Leigh Griffiths, and Kris Commons are all there. All are extremely good shouts too considering our success this decade.

Walker has also reasonably put Andrew Considine in there after the centre-back played his 500th game for Aberdeen earlier on this season.
Yet, laughably, Allan McGregor has made it in there over Fraser Forster or Craig Gordon. The Rangers goalkeeper did win four medals, but didn’t play for Rangers between 2012 and 2018. He also hasn’t won a single thing since returning. Gordon, meanwhile, has scooped up 13 medals at Parkhead, with Forster collecting six and starring in the Champions League.
Boyd’s team not so Celtic-dominated
In fairness to Walker, he does flood it with Celtic players. Kris Boyd’s team? Not so much.

Granted, he does put seven current and former Celts in there. Victor Wanyama made the former Rangers man’s team ahead of Kris Commons. The likes of Lustig and Griffiths, however, didn’t make the cut. Instead, Boyd went for McGregor, Steve Davis, Davie Weir, and Alfredo Morelos.
It’s difficult to know where to even begin with that. Weir retired from football in January 2012. He only effectively played two seasons of the previous decade. How on earth he can even be considered in a Team of the Decade is absolutely incredible.
Davis, meanwhile, has played even less than McGregor has. He’s hardly been a standout either, and most certainly shouldn’t be in there ahead of a Tom Rogic for example.

And, last of all, Morelos. There’s no denying he’s had an incredible campaign for Rangers this season. Griffiths, however, has bagged 107 goals for Celtic including several in the Glasgow derby. Griff has also performed at Champions League level too, something Morelos has only been dreaming of.
If we’re all being serious, any Team of the Decade should have 11 Celtic players in it. We’re the eight-in-a-row champions with a treble-treble in our locker too. It’s crazy to think anyone from Rangers, a club who were in the lower divisions for four seasons of the decade, can topple our former and current stars.
But hey-ho, that’s Sky Sports for you.
