Celtic winger Sead Haksabanovic may have played his final minutes this season if some recent quotes from Ange Postecoglou are anything to go by.
The Montenegrin attacker started last night’s game against Hibernian but lasted just 22 minutes before pulling up with an injury.
He was replaced by Daizen Maeda who also didn’t see out the game after being receiving a yellow card either side of half-time.
Haksabanovic‘s injury looked to be fairly innocuous with the television cameras not actually picking up how it had occured.
It did however look muscular and, speaking afterwards, Postecoglou seemed to suggest it may keep him out for at least a few matches.
As reported by Glasgow Live, he said: “I’ll wait and see what the medical team say but the cup final is 10 days away and it could be tough for him.”
Haksabanovic hasn’t started too many games in 2023 so it’s a loss that we can cope with.
James Forrest has recently returned to the fold and we should also have Jota, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda around for the game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
It will be interesting to see if Ange goes full strength for Saturday’s clash against Aberdeen.
On the face of it, we could do with a performance and a win. But we could also do without any needless injuries for the really big one a week later.
We’ll keep you updated with all of our injuries when we hear anything.
