You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that Christopher Jullien is having a tough time on his comeback from a serious Celtic injury.

The defender has been out of action ever since colliding with the post against Dundee United 12 months ago. Surgery and rehabilitation followed, alongside a return to Celtic training.

However, manager Ange Postecoglou still doesn’t have an update on when he might be available after admitting his recovery isn’t going as smoothly as anyone would like.

Ange provides Celtic Jullien update

It’s not for a lack of trying. The hard work continues.

The Celtic boss told 67 Hail Hail and assembled journalists at a press conference today: “He’s still working hard. Obviously, with a long-term injury, there are going to be little setbacks at times.

“You need everything to run smoothly and it hasn’t for Chris, but he’s working in rehab and out doing work with our medical team and sports scientists so hopefully he’ll be back out there.”

And that’s probably the most information we’ll get out of the manager until there is a time Jullien is fit enough to be included in first-team training again.

It’s frustrating not to know exactly what is going on, but that’s the nature of these things as outsiders. Jullien will be trying his best to make it back into a Celtic jersey.

Right now we don’t know when that will be. The best of luck to him as he continues the process.

In other news, What Ange is seeing from fringe players at Lennoxtown is excellent news for Celtic.
