Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has explained how the environment of his current Hoops squad allows new signings to settle in quickly at Parkhead.

The 56-year-old is currently amidst his third transfer window as the manager at Celtic Park. During that time, he has racked up a total of 24 new additions to his first team and youth squads.

Last summer was a particularly busy time for the former Socceroos boss, as he attempted to rebuild his playing squad, making 12 signings.

Of course, as Celtic fans, we are well aware of how tricky it can be to work in the restricted transfer market, with plenty of hits and misses over the years.

However, the vast majority of Postecoglou’s signings have gone on to have a significant impact on the first team, helping the Bhoys to a league and cup double last campaign.

Players such as Kyogo Furuhashi, Josip Juranovic, Joe Hart and Matt O’Riley, to name just a few, have quickly become fans’ favourites to the Parkhead faithful.

One the Postecoglou’s latest summer signings, Mortiz Jenz, got off to the ideal start at the club, scoring a crucial goal in the 3-1 victory over Ross County last weekend.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Celtic manager opened up on why he believed so many of his new additions had become a success.

Postecoglou was quick to give his players praise for creating an environment that allowed new arrivals from all over the globe to feel ‘involved and comfortable’ so quickly at Lennoxtown.

He said [Celtic TV]: “It always helps when they have a positive start, but there were others who didn’t have a positive start last year and it didn’t stop them having strong seasons, I think all those things, what’s really important for us is players feel comfortable as quickly as possible, the environment certainly does that and the group of players we have here, anyone who is new is embraced and they try and get them feeling involved and comfortable.

“For Moritz, first competitive game, he handled himself really well, and I think that’s because, from the moment he arrived, he feels comfortable in the environment.”

Postecoglou and his players have created a brilliant atmosphere that new additions love to be part of.

For me, the signing of Joe Hart perfectly epitomises what Ange Postecoglou is looking for in a player when bringing a new signing to the club.

Not only is Ange wanting them to fit the system and provide quality, but he is also looking for the right sort of characters to join the group.

Hart has shown over the past 12 months what a classy character he is and has quickly become a leader in the Celtic dressing room.

Having someone like him as part of the group has helped create this positive atmosphere and environment that makes it so easy for new signings to settle in quickly.

Mortiz Jenz is just the latest example of that, putting in a solid display on his debut. I am sure he won’t be the last new signing to do so either, all thanks to the brilliant work done by Ange Postecoglou and those involved at the club.
