Ange Postecoglou has given a new interview to Celtic TV reflecting on the club’s big win over Rangers at the weekend, before looking ahead to the upcoming test away to Kilmarnock.

Postecoglou guided the Bhoys to a 3-2 victory at Celtic Park, ensuring that 60,000 supporters had a very happy Easter weekend with friends and family.

For the Celtic boss, his personal Easter festivities don’t kick off quite yet but he was happy to feel the love of fans when out and about in Glasgow in the wake of the derby win.

He told the club channel: “It was nice. The key part for me was obviously the result on Saturday. Being Greek Orthodox, our Easter is actually this week. But getting out and about it was good to see, I came across quite a few of our supporters having a good Easter Sunday.

“We understood this was a big game. Apart from being a derby, from a league perspective and the ability to put further distance between us and second spot was always going to be a great challenge. Being at home to Rangers, you always want to send our punters home happy. There was a good edge to the game, it had a bit of everything. I said after the game the lads showed great character to get the job done.

“We went through our normal review this morning. We review the performance, the outcome everyone knows and that’s important, players get immediate feedback on that. In terms of performance, we analyse the game, gave feedback to the players and move on to look ahead. Overall there are definitely areas we can play better in.

“As I’ve said quite often, the ability of this team to find a way through whatever the challenge may be is outstanding. The reason we are where we are at this point is because of that great unity of character they have.”

The manager fully understands what games like this mean to supporters. His connection with us has been one of his big strengths as Celtic boss. No doubt everyone he’s encountered over the last few days has let him know how good a job he is doing.

Now it’s about continuing this relentless streak of form and getting over the line as Premiership title winners. This weekend’s Kilmarnock match is one more step towards that aim and all that Postecoglou will care about now.
