New comments from Ange Postecoglou are still emerging from Friday’s media event at Celtic through the print press.
We’ve already heard what the manager had to say to the broadcast media and assembled fan media.
However, little snippets of information are still making their way to newspaper pages in Scotland.
Some of the print journalists given the chance to interview him on Friday quizzed him about the upcoming Champions League tie and player recruitment.
Promisingly, it seems that Postecoglou has already identified the glaring weaknesses that quickly need to be fixed.
Speaking to The Scottish Mail on Sunday [27/06 print edition, page 151], the new Celtic boss said: “It’s a hell of a challenge for us, but that’s why I’m here. I have three-and-a-half weeks to prepare and every day is going to be important.
“Is it a challenge that’s too far? No, because every opportunity is a chance for us to show how we can play our football.
“Quarantine gave me time to do a lot of things. I saw some obvious gaps in the squad.
“Even if no one leaves, we have gaps in certain positions that need to be filled, so that is my priority.
“It’s not going to be easy bringing players in, so let’s start working on these specific positions.”
This bodes well for the manager’s promise that supporters should expect new signings “very, very soon”, which he also stated on Friday.

We hate to harp on, but the clock is ticking ever closer to some of our biggest games of the season. The quicker we get quality players in the door the better.
It sounds like Postecoglou is at least pushing for that to happen. He’s unlikely to sit on his hands if the club aren’t pulling their weight on recruitment.
He knows what is required, now it’s time to deliver.
