Ange Postecoglou appears to have created the family-feel environment at Celtic Park that he’s been after this season.

Ever since arriving at the club, Ange has stressed that he wants a special kind of dressing-room bond between the players. Back in November, the manager stated that he wants the Celtic stars to think of themselves as being part of an “extended family” at Lennoxtown [Celtic View].

The connection between the supporters and the team, of course, has certainly impressed. And it appears as though the players do indeed share a unique relationship with each other these days.

And it’s been confirmed by left-back Greg Taylor, who talked up the family-feel environment that’s been instilled this season. As quoted by the Daily Record, Taylor said: “The gaffer has touched on the fact we have signed good people, which is important.

“We have a strong changing room and everyone is out there fighting for each other. We tried to build almost a family and I think we have done that this year. Everyone in that changing room has got ability that they can bring to the table, but there’s also good people in there.

“People have been thrown in at the deep end. Carl played his first league game without having even trained. There have been difficult moments, but no-one has ever looked for excuses and we still won’t.”

Celtic appear to be in a fantastic place mentally and physically

You can see just how close this Celtic team are in their post-match celebrations on a weekly basis. You can’t fake the affection these players show for each other on the pitch.

Evidently, the manager has been able to add all of the right personalities into his squad that he wanted to during the summer. Celtic are no longer in a position where it feels as though there is little bond or chemistry within the team.

That’s certainly the impression we got for long stages last season. But this current dressing room is entirely different – undoubtedly helped by the number of experienced leaders we have within it.

Look at the reaction to losing last weekend’s semi-final for example. There was no sulking or letting it linger in the minds. Instead, Callum McGregor immediately got the players into a huddle and refocused them. That then led to a comfortable win over Ross County that’s firmly put the Hampden disappointment in the past.

It says so much that we can lose a cup semi-final yet still appear to be in a great place mentally. This is simply down to the atmosphere that’s been created at Lennoxtown. It’s a group that looks out for each other.

And Greg’s comments here more or less confirm that Ange has managed to build that family atmosphere he was itching for.
