Ange Postecoglou took part in a media event with Michael Beale at Hampden Park today, previewing the upcoming Scottish League Cup final between Celtic and Rangers.
The pair were sat together in front of the cameras, with both managers subsequently giving their views on Sunday’s big encounter.
Some supporters have definitely been taken by surprise seeing them sit side by side [Hamish Carton] but it was presumably promotion as part of the trophy sponsorship. As you can see below, they looked ‘delighted’ to be there!
Postecoglou is obviously relishing the chance to win silverware, telling reporters [Sky Sports News 15:50]: “Yeah, I’m looking forward to it. It’s a cup final, there’s a trophy on the line. We have to try and make sure we’re ready for the day and perform well, and hopefully get the job done.
“It’s a cup final, it’s a one off game. You just don’t know how they’re going to go. Sometimes they’re decided on moments, sometimes it’s tight, sometimes one team is dominant. What you do know it’s a game of great consequence. Both teams will be up for it, it’ll be a fantastic atmosphere. I expect the tempo and intensity to be pretty high when the game starts.”
Both teams are in strong form heading into the encounter, with the 2-2 draw in January the only league points dropped by either since Beale replaced Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Nothing can be taken for granted, although most supporters will certainly have full faith in this team to get the job done. We are playing some excellent football right now.
If the team stay focused on their task, get to grip with the conditions at Hampden and take the game to Rangers, we have the quality to get the goals needed to win. Bring it on!
In other news, Leeds end the Ange Postecoglou chatter once and for all; Celtic support right again.
