Ange Postecoglou issues brilliant Celtic injury update

Ange Postecoglou says Tom Rogic will definitely be fit and available for the upcoming Celtic match at home to Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.

Rogic hasn’t featured for over a month, since the 3-1 victory away to Hibernian at the end of October. He’s been a bitter miss to the Celtic midfield with his creativity and skill always useful when breaking teams down.

Thankfully he should be in the starting line-up when Robbie Neilson’s side visits Glasgow, and he’s not the only one closing in on a return.

The manager told Celtic TV: “Hopefully Nir Bitton should be available again and Tommy Rogic will definitely be available for Thursday, which is good.

“Carl Starfelt isn’t too far away, Greg Taylor isn’t too far away, so we are getting some troops back. We’re going to need them, it’s a heavy schedule and we don’t want our level of performance to drop.”

So, the starting eleven and bench should be stronger than today’s. It was noticeably a bit threadbare for me and getting key players back who have performed well under Postecoglou will be a huge bonus.

There’s a match every few days between now and the derby on January 2nd and it is bound to take its toll on some of our other big performers.

But, Ange seems buoyed by this news and confident Celtic can navigate stormy waters. Bring it on.
