Ange Postecoglou is pleased with the ‘natural evolution’ he’s seeing at Celtic in terms of set-piece threat.
The Bhoys have scored 11 goals in the early stages of the season, with four of them coming from set-piece situations.
Defenders, midfielders and attackers are all getting themselves on the scoresheet right now, and for Postecoglou, that’s a critical part of Celtic’s overall improvement.

The manager has also made it clear Gavin Strachan is overseeing this extra set-piece effort, which follows on from similar comments made by Matt O’Riley yesterday.
Postecoglou told The Sunday Post [21/08 print edition, Post Match supplement page 5]: “It is the natural evolution of the team. Gavin Strachan is in charge of that area and puts a lot of work into it. We have got guys like Cameron Carter-Vickers and Moritz Jenz, who really attack the ball, which is great because you want your defenders contributing at the other end of the park.
“And we have guys, like Aaron Mooy, who have good delivery. That’s pleasing. We want to hurt teams in different ways. If they close us down, we have to find different ways to score.”
With both Postecoglou and O’Riley naming Strachan, it’s clear the Celtic group want credit given to the appropriate person and they must feel he is really adding value in the area.
Everyone at Celtic Park will be hoping to see more of it today.
Stephen Welsh’s opener at Paradise against Aberdeen really set the tone for a brilliant day and that kind of threat is key to breaking down stubborn teams, as Ange notes.
