Ange Postecoglou has crossed paths with Jonny Hayes in his new role with UEFA.
The former Celtic manager has been out of work since being sacked by Nottingham Forest in October, keeping himself busy as a Technical Observer at UEFA.
Postecoglou’s role entails tactical analysis of matches to identify trends in the game. He has been seen working in Norway, travelling around Europe and delivering masterclasses.
He looked buzzing to meet Hayes, the current interim manager of Celtic B.

After a 3-1 defeat to Tranent Juniors last time out, Hayes’ B side are back at home on Saturday against league leaders Bonnyrigg Rose.
The young Hoops currently sit seventh in the table, a massive 19 points off top spot which secures a promotion play-off semi-final against the Highland League champions, with the winner facing the bottom side in Scottish League Two.
Hayes was signed by Celtic in 2017, reuniting with Brendan Rodgers after working with him at Reading as a teenager.
He joined after five years at Aberdeen, scoring in the Scottish Cup final against Celtic in his final appearance for the Dons.
Across three years in Hoops, he established himself as a reliable squad member. Though signed as a winger, he was occasionally seen at left-back.
The highlight of his spell was undoubtedly at Ibrox in September 2019, when he scored to seal a 2-0 win for a Celtic side labelled as underdogs ahead of that match.
I want the next manager of Celtic to be…
Ange Postecoglou has ruled out Celtic return
Postecoglou’s availability made him an obvious candidate for the permanent Celtic job which is expected to be vacated by Martin O’Neill this summer.
However, speaking on The Overlap, he ruled out a Parkhead return, saying: “In terms of going back, I don’t go back. I don’t think that’s been my career.
“Whatever the next step is, it’ll be something new. Something I can make an impact in. Somewhere I can win things.”
The 60-year-old has also been linked with a return to Tottenham, where things have gone pear-shaped since his sacking at the end of last season.
