Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has explained why Josip Juranovic didn’t make the squad to face Aberdeen last night.
The Croatian international was mysteriously omitted from the matchday squad after previously being on the bench against Motherwell last Sunday.
It had the Celtic supporters understandably concerned. And it was even more frustrating when Ange wasn’t asked about it pre-match either at Pittodrie either.

Thankfully, however, an update has now been provided by the Celtic boss as he provided a return timeline for the first-choice right-back.
As quoted by The Herald, Postecoglou said: “He’s got an illness.
“[He’ll be back at] the weekend, hopefully, and if not he will definitely be back for the midweek fixture next week.”
Celtic boss eases supporters’ Josip Juranovic fears
This is the update every Celtic supporter wanted to hear from the manager last night.
Anthony Ralston has recently been deputising and has been doing a fine job of it. However, there’s no denying that we lose something when Croatia’s number one right-back isn’t on the pitch.
Juranovic has been an absolute stalwart and has become a real fans-favourite during his time in Glasgow too. It’s no surprise there was immense concern over his absence.

Celtic will face Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup on Sunday before squaring off against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League next Thursday night. The truth is Josip should be prioritised for the clash against the Norwegians.
Raith should be seen as a chance to give some fringe players and youngsters an opportunity in any case.
Regardless, it’s great to hear this is nothing serious. That’s all the supporters really wanted to know.
