Ange Postecoglou is hoping to have Giorgos Giakoumakis available for the run-in despite the player limping off in today’s win over St Johnstone.

The Bhoys were outstanding today at Paradise, winning by a 7-0 margin with goals coming from all over the team.

Giakoumakis himself was on the scoresheet but unfortunately had to be substituted shortly after, having picked up an apparent hamstring injury.

Postecoglou was asked by BBC Radio Scotland [17:10] after the game for an update and he said: “I’m not really sure at the moment. He didn’t think it was too bad but he did feel something, so obviously it’s always a concern when players have that.

“He’s had an enormous load over the last few weeks carrying that frontline so unfortunate for him and we’ll wait and see. I’m hoping he’ll still be available for us in the run-in.

“I said before the game it’s the healthiest squad we’ve had all year. We’ve got guys coming off the bench and who aren’t in the squad who can really contribute.”

Everyone will be hoping the Greek is back in action as soon as possible with a massive semi-final looming and other big games to look forward to.

However, as the manager says, there are plenty of options to fill in for the 13-goal striker, not least Kyogo Furuhashi who was finally back in action today.

Fingers cross for Giakoumakis, on a personal basis, that he isn’t hurting too much tonight.

More news on him, of course, when we get it next week.
