Ange Postecoglou is feeling the love of Scottish people and Celtic supporters since moving to Glasgow with his family in the summer.

The Bhoys boss was the focus of a club media event today, giving up almost an hour of his time to answer questions from assembled fan outlets.

67 Hail Hail were, of course, in attendance and we’ve already shared the responses to our own questions about Osaze Urhoghide, Liam Shaw and James McCarthy.

However, other excellent questions were also put to the manager and one from The Celtic Exchange podcast focused on how he is settling into life in Scotland after five months in the job.

Ange’s response was typically full of warmth and humour as he talked up his experiences so far around the city away from the dugout.

The manager said: “I know I haven’t yet earned the support I’m getting because we haven’t achieved anything yet. But that’s a great incentive for me to give back and try to bring success to this football club.

“Generally life, it’s great. My wife and my kids have settled really well. People have been really good to me, just in the general public. People say you’ve got to be a little bit wary but it’s not in my nature. We go out and about to do the things normal families do. Everyone’s been super kind and super generous.

“You folk don’t understand just how friendly and welcoming you are in comparison to the rest of the world. I’ve been invited to numerous people’s houses who I’ve only just met. It’s been great.

“But at the same time, I don’t take the responsibility I have for granted in any way, shape or form. I know why I’m here. It’s not something about fulfilling myself personally – it’s about contributing to this great football club and the supporters to hopefully bring some happy times.”

So there you go, Ange is being invited to houses all over the city for a cup of tea or perhaps something stronger! Just as you’d expect, really.

In all seriousness, it’s fantastic to hear that he’s taking life in Glasgow in his stride since arriving. Being a manager of clubs in the city can sometimes be unforgiving, but so far we’ve taken to Ange and he’s taken to us.

Long may it continue!
