Ange Postecoglou’s brilliant touch of Celtic class you may have missed today

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been named the Scottish Premiership manager of the month for January. It’s an award I’m sure you’ll agree is well deserved.

Celtic returned from the winter break with real purpose and determination, grinding out results and putting themselves in a position to go top of the league.

In February, they’ve gone on to do that thanks to a win against arch-rivals Rangers, a testament to the good work done in January.

What you may have missed today thought is Postecoglou’s commitment to having his entire backroom staff recognised for the team’s achievements. Today he included Gavin Strachan in his photocall at Lennoxtown and for a very good reason.

The last time Postecoglou won the award for October’s efforts, he included coaches Stephen McManus, John Kennedy and Stevie Woods in the trophy photo.

However, Strachan wasn’t at Lennoxtown that day so was unavailable to join in. Clearly, Postecoglou remembered that and wanted to pay tribute to him for his efforts in turning around Celtic this season.

It just goes to show the unity and camaraderie we are seeing from the club in all aspects right now. From the players to the staff and the support, everyone is on the same page and pulling in the same direction.

Strachan has received his fair share of criticism since joining the club from Peterborough United. He was one of the maligned figures in the wake of last season’s disaster under Neil Lennon.

However, he is valued by the Australian and clearly is putting in enough hard work for the manager to go out of his way and make sure he is recognised in this way.

Nice one Ange!
